I received blistered and splinter ridden feet from chasing this Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoo. After jumping out of our four-wheel drive, forgetting to put on any kind of footwear, I ran over burning hot sand and plunged into very prickly scrub at the top of the sand dunes.

It was all well worth it though as I got to stand just under this bird and observe it while it feasted on a Banksia seed pod.
